I Saw A Man Take A Bull Up The Ass... no lie.

This weekend could quite possibly have been the soul reason why I came to France…minus the hot hot boys. Friday night I got HAMMERED with some friends here and a guy from Prague. Woke up next morning hung over as shit and very much so late for a bus that I needed to be on. The entire group took a very hung over bus ride t a town in the Camargue called Aige Mortes. We went to a bull farm and got feed so much bull meat it was ridiculous. I mean we had bull sausage, bull pate, bull stew, rice….from the bull fields. It was a huge intense lunch. After that we went to our amazing hotel and met the other CEA group from Grenoble. I loved that group, all the girls pretty much rocked and there was only ten of them so they were all really close. So the sun was out, the weather mild and we set off for the bullfight. That’s right I saw a Spanish bullfight in a French town with American rock music. The way there were working the part we were part of was that they had a huge ring set up and a bull would be let loose into it and anybody who was anybody could try the touch the bull and run after it. So naturally I was down there with a few of the guys from Grenoble having the time of my life being chased by bulls and shitting my pants. So by now the bulls are really pissed off and Dana and I are leaning on a fence when we see a particularly pissed off bull comes running at us along the fence. So we tried to hope it to get out of the way of the FUCKING HORNS when we see that they have released 4 other bulls on the other side of the fence so there is no room for us to jump in. So I did this weird Hop in mid air thing to try and be “one” with the fence and Dana just flattened herself against the fence. The bulls brushed passed us and we booked it for the stands where all the men were laughing at us. My heart was racing and I was shaking like a leaf. Of course I would do it again.
After the bulls were in the ring they would run them through the town one at a time with guys on horses as guardians. This worked really well until one bull decided he wanted to turn right… the last we saw of that bull was his ass rounding another corner with the guardians tearing off after him. Awesome!
After that we attended a concert in the Centre Ville, which was awesome but not as excited seeing as there was a huge lack of bulls.
The next day went to a city called Saint Marie de la Mare we climbed onto the stone roof of a church that was built in the 11th century and watched a procession through the town down to the sea. There is a story about the cousins of the Virgin Mary and they landed in Saint Marie de la Mare with their servant called Black Sara and now the town celebrates it. They carry the statues of the Maries down to the sea and bless them in the water. It’s very cool to watch and follow along. When that was done we went to ride horses, which was very interesting. Many of the people had never even touched a horse and were therefore terrified to be sitting on top of one. I found this hilarious. But the horses were pissed off and buying for supremacy between themselves so there was a lot of misplaced kicks and bites, so most of the people that got off the horse were far more bruised and discolored than they should have been. Worry not, I did fine.

Well this wekend was very long but very good. I went a town called cassis. good luck with that place on the map anne, HA. this was the first time we rode the train and it was easy except forthe hard parts. as on any train hte announcer is incredibly hard ot hear so we missed our stop andh ad to ask a bunch of suprisingly nice onµld french people for help. the trip took an extra hour. but ohhhhhhh was it worth it you ask. yes, it was. our hotel was right next to the sea and the sea was gorgeous. the night life in the town sucked but there was a band that played at a bar. oh man they made my weekend. they played all english/american music and didnt quite have all the words down. ACDCs hioghway to hell came out as i wear the bells. i think we got drunk and watched them for 3 hours. so worth it. on one of the three days we were in Cassis we took a boat tour of these huge Calanques or fjordes. i dont think any or that is spelled correctly. but they are beautful... or the ones i saw were, i got indcredibly sea sick and vomited over the side of the boat. sad way to spend a vacation. vomiting aside, we spent a lot oftime watching the ocean talking about life in gerneral, people we hated and french grammar. it was a great weekend.
AND
i got moved to a higher level class in school so i am being challenged more and i am much much happier. there was a good week where i wanted to go home more than anything and now its not so much a need as a thought buried somewhere in my head. i think i will be ok for a while.
i need to buy my ticket for london. can anyone guess what i couldbe going to london for?

so life as ussualy in Aix since the weekend. my classes are far to easy and i am not sure i will be moved out of them; the keyboard i am using right now so very very bad; the keys stick. sorry if i make some mistakes.
apperently i had a french boyfriend for a week and we brook up. who knew??
so life at home got a little more annoying. our home stay Nazi insists that we sit up very tall and straight with perfect posture when we eat. that gets annoying. and apperently when we are home we are shut off from her part of the house completly. its awkward living with her when i dont know where i can be and if i can leave my door open. GUH, i hate the french

The Wine is Seriously Cheaper than Water

I can hardly wait to talk about what i did today or maybe my hands are just shaking because i have had far too much wine tonight.
Today we went to a farm or un Ferme and had an amazing day. we got to go out into a vinyardthat was older than america and pick grapes for like 2 houres and then we totaly striped teh grapes and crushed tehm. teh guy who runs the place is going to makes the grapes we picked into wine and send it too us. The wine is amazing! we drank about 10 bottles of table wine that was made at the vinyard then about 5 bottles of a sparkling white wine that was as close to champaign as you can get without actually being there. everything at that vinyard was done by hand the way they did it 100 years ago.
also they made a 5 course meal for us which was far to good to talk about just yet. after our day there we went across the street to a Cave or a bottling house and tried different aged wines out of hte biggest kegs ever... they arent kegs but large silos full of wine with a tap on the lower side. i want one for my backyard.
i have had way too much to drink today. I really think everyone has. My roommate and i are going out for a beer.
Au revoir

At Least the Bathroom has an Amazing View

so its weird being here. lets start with my host mother, Madame Trinquet. she is a nice lady but does some really weird stuff. she give us breakfast and dinner monday through friday but if we eat breakfast after 11 we get yelled at, we can not wear our shoes in the house because they make too much noise, no flushing the toilet after 10PM, same with the shower, dinner is served at 7:20 everyday, (weird to anyone else?) can not use the kitchen, mail has to be delivered correctly with correct postage or we get yelled at, turn off the lights or we get yelled at, if we use too much toillet paper she cuts us off. We are getting seriously ripped off with my home stay. oh well i live with a vert strict french Madame... not as much fun as it should be.
seriously if i was not living in this house with Jullie i would ask to be moved or have a serious freak out session.
going out here is amazing but you have to be so careful, i was just talking to a guy for about 5 minutes before he was touching me and trying to kiss me. its like hey!!!! i am talking lets make out because obviously thats what i intend to do, i got dressed this morning hoping to make out with a random guy i have never met before or talked to before. i might not like what is implied by me being an amlerican here.

This is gonna be quick...

So i have been in the stupid south of france for 5 days... I think...i dont know they all meld into one because you only nap. you party at night for frickin ever and the bars only close becuase the sun comes up again and no one wants to party when they can see eachother. The French boys are all WAY too hot for their own good. how am i supposed to be a fucking tourist here when i can not take my eyes of the Aixois garcon for a long enough time to look at a gothic church. i cant and that is a problem. My host mothers doctor put her on a diet so all she cooks is healthy food that belive it or not tastes better than anything i have ever eaten or made, it hurts my pride. the buildings are all incredibly old and amazing which leads me to sitting and starring off at a fucking cool wall looking stoned to the french. wine is cheap so i`ll be drunk alot. everythign is very chic so i`ll spend too much money. cafes are everywhere so my ass will get wide from sitting...
whatever, i`ll deal.
