6 days and counting...
Talk about hung over. I drank a bottle of wine and a pint of beer to myself last night all in about 2 hours. That doesn’t seem like a lot at all right now. I’ve spent a very glorious Sunday in bed, my head spinning, and eating waffles. Not too bad but I wish I was outside. Ill do that later. Remind me.
Last night was a happy hour at a café with all of the new spring arrivals for the second semester. All those bright and chipper (jet-lagged) faces filled me with renewed lust and love for Aix. I have hit the mark where I am dreading going home a bit. God I want to but aix truly is a beautiful city and its going to be tough to leave it.
We all went to the Residence last night and hung out and drank with the new kids and then hit up the bars and Castell. A bunch of us ended up back at a hotel where some of the new guys were staying and I spent the wee hours of the morning with 3 Americans guys just sitting around talking drunken shit; god I lived it. I can’t believe how much I miss American guys. This isn’t even is a sexual way, yeah, I know!!! It was so relaxing just being around guys that I understood and were used too. I hardly new these guys but there were Americans and just because of that everything was so comfortable.
When I woke up in the morning the guys had left for orientation so I was alone in a huge hotel suite. There was a fantastic view of the city, the mountain, and the cathedral. Everything was gorgeous and so incredibly fresh. Everything was so nice and perfect aside from my case of spins.
On top of my kick ass night, Julie and I spent the afternoon in Marseille shopping and sitting next to the sea. Its January, and we spent an entire afternoon watching French men play volley ball on the beach and watching ocean liners and sailboats coming in and going out of the most ancient seaport in France. Perfect.
It’s going to be a difficult 21st of January.
Also I bought 22 Lion bars. When I get home you will discover the joy and delight that is the Nestle Lion bar.
